With the World Health Organisation (WHO) recommending people stay at home as much as possible and practice social distancing, one industry remains relatively unaffected.

LISTEN TO OUR COVID-19 SPECIAL WITH DR. NORMAN SWAN! WHAT TO DO? WHAT NOT TO FUCKING DO DURING THIS PANDEMIC

While COVID-19 has crippled many industries, the Australian Live Music scene has reported nearly nothing in terms of change to crowd numbers as punters continue to avoid it.

Live music venue The Dud Spot, that the crowds were just as happy as they ever had been to be at home without the constant need to keep readjusting their earplugs.

“Yeah, people have self-isolated from us for yonks mate,” said sound guy Vince Murphy (48) as he moved a dial on his sound desk for no apparent reason.

“These are just the same crowds we had in for INXS once they were on their fourth singer.”

Although meandering sound guys such as Murphy state it is business as usual, performers such as metal guitarist Jaden Blackstock (26) says that there have been some changes worth noting.

“Yeah the go-to excuse on Facebook events now is largely coronavirus related,” stated Blackstock while the sound guy continued to tell a funny story to a poster of Jim Morrison.

“The excuses used to be heaps more creative, fake going-away parties, fake weddings, fake deaths – now the only excuse is this fucking virus. It’s killing creativity. And people obviously.”
