Residents of Moree are on high alert after a potentially infectious visitor spent a number of days in the north-west New South Wales town last week.

A pop-up testing clinic is operating at the Gateway, with cars lined up for roughly two kilometres as the locals begin second guessing their hayfever.

Health authorities said a 44-year-old woman tested positive to COVID-19 in Queensland after leaving Melbourne during lockdown on June 1 and was possibly infectious while she travelled through regional NSW – stopping at Gillenbah, Forbes, Dubbo and Moree en route to the Sunshine Coast.

The woman, who is now under investigation by police to determine whether she breached Victorian health directives, has not been named or shamed in the newspapers because she is not an African teenager.

As well as the drive-thru roadside pop-up, testing will continue at Moree Hospital and Moree Respiratory Clinic – as the town moves quickly to neutralise and isolate any possible community transmissions.

Located just west of Barnaby Country in a safe Nationals electorate, it goes without saying that barely anyone in Moree have been vaccinated – leaving the town of 7000 residents even more exposed than the cotton-wool wrapped city.

However, Health Experts have today revealed that anyone who has spent a bit of time floating in the Moree Hot Baths will already be immune to both the Delta and Kappa variant of the St Kilda Sneeze.

NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard says having visited the Moree Hot Baths during his days as a Freedom Rider, he reckons if you can survive the communal bodily fluids of the town’s artesian water springs, then you are indestructible to this wussy little virus.

“Mate, have you seen those pools?” he told a media conference in Sydney today.

“They are just full of grey nomads farting by day and teenagers having sex by night”

“The delta variant wouldn’t stand a chance alongside that kind of bacteria.

“If the hot water doesn’t kill it, ya supercharged immune system will”
