After three weeks of global protests against the systemic racism shown towards people of colour by law enforcement and courts right across the world, local campaign organiser Claudia Wyatt-Power wonders if it’s just her that is getting exhausted talking about all this.

Claudia says she’s 100% behind Black Lives Matters, but does worry the whole movement might be starting to lose its punch – and wouldn’t mind seeing a bit more other causes getting a bit of news.

“There’s heaps of other causes that could really benefit from attention right now. Like, lets not forget how under-represented women are in corporate finance?”

“Or, you know, the who Extinction Rebellion”

“I literally haven’t seen one KeepCup since lock down started. The social distancing measures have really taken away from the importance of recycling”

While Claudia understands she will likely face backlash for her comments about diversity in online campaigns and protests, she says that no one can question her dedication to the BLM movement in Australia.

“I mean, I know about the numbers when I comes to deaths in custody. I definitely marched last Saturday” says Claudia, clarifying her unashamed status as black tile ally.

“Even during a pandemic I marched. Like, you can’t say that I’m not putting my life on the line…”

“But I do wonder if, like, it’s starting to take away from other causes…”

“Which, are, like, all linked…”
