For the first time in the history of the NRL, the Brisbane Broncos fans are being forced to appreciate that some clubs can go decades without a premiership.

The once-great club sits just above the Doggies on the Premiership ladder with a 2-5 record, following Saturday’s ultimate humiliation in the shape of a 30-12 upset defeat at the hands of the Gold Coast.

Broncos fans booed the team off the Suncorp Stadium arena after they trailed 22-0 to the Titans.

The team, which is made up of a few old journeymen, and a bunch of volatile young lunatics, have been on the nose for a couple seasons now – especially after the revelations that they were up until 3AM the night before their final match of the 2019 season – which they lost 58-0.

Fans say they are absolutely ropable at the suggestion that they no longer have the luxury of supporting a club that wins a premiership every couple years, like they did for the first two decades of the clubs existence.

“What the hell is this?” says Milton local, Campbell Bligh (55).

“What the fuck’s going on?”

“I didn’t buy life membership in 2006, only to never see another premiership for 14 years”

Another high-profile supporter, Annastaccia Ackerie (44, Coorparoo) is equally as upset.

“Look I know they made the grand final five years ago, but still, they didn’t win.”

“As a Brisbane resident I am used to winning Origin eight years in a row without ever thinking we would lose, and having 80% of that Origin team playing for the Broncos!”

“This is bullshit!”

It is believed that both Eels and Rabbitohs fans have sneered at Brisbane’s fairweatherness in the wake of a couple bad seasons.

“I think they should just bite their tongue for a couple decades” said high-profile Bunnies fan, Andrew Denton.

“Try being so shit you get kicked out of the competition”.

MORE TO COME.
