All twelve restaurants and all six bars within the iconic Penrith Panthers leagues club have been directed to only play Mount Druitt drill rap for the remainder of the NRL season.

This new policy has reportedly come from the very top, as Panthers icon Gus Gould moves to capture the heart and soul of the Sydney’s far Western suburbs and channel it into premiership momentum for their beloved NRL club.

Penrith claimed their third minor premiership with a comfortable 32-12 win over North Queensland in Townsville last round. This extended the club’s historic winning streak to 14 matches, as their continue to canter into the finals as the Premiership dark horse.

Gus Gould, in his final years as Penrith’s general manager of football, says with one more fixture of the regular season to go, now is the time to rally the troops.

Speaking to the media outside the leagues club today, Gould said that it had been a big year for ‘the area’ in general, not just on the football field, but also in the musical arena.

“The number one band in Australia right now is from here. The boys from OneFour, they are all from out this way.”

“Spenny, J Emz, YP, Celly, Lekks… They all grew up in the shadow of the Big Cat… Some of them even played juniors”

“In the UFC we have Tyson and Bam Bam…”

“And to much lesser acclaim, we also had an AFL team make the Grand Final last October”

Gould says these achievements speak volumes for the fighting spirit of excellence on the foothills of the mountains.

“For our little town to do all of this in the backdrop of a global pandemic… It’s something that should be celebrated”

“It is for this reason, that we will only be playing OneFour in the lifts, venues and pokie rooms of Panthers Leagues”

“I am currently in talks with local council and Transport NSW to see if this can be extended to all public transport and local businesses”

“This is our way of showing pride in the 27. In our people. Our heroes. Our music”

“OneFour will be playing non-stop from now until the boys come back down the Great Western Highway with the Provan Summons trophy”

“Pull up, bang, spray, do dat, do dat, gang gang”

MORE TO COME.
