Sydney’s West is buzzing this week, as the Panthers and Eels prepare to kick off their respective finals campaign this weekend.

While those around Sydney’s ‘second CBD’ are somewhat cautious given their team’s awful form and habit of crumbling under pressure, The Area is full-on humming right now.

With the Penny Panthers seeking to claim their first title since that fateful night in 2003, pubs in the west have started tapping the Finals Edition Kegs of Oak Milk.

From The Druitt to Dubbo, Oak Choccy, Oak Pineapple, Oak Thick Mint, Oak Peppermint and Oak Fantales are now pouring as the Chocolate Soldiers take on the Sydney Roosters tomorrow night in a classic East v West battle to start the weekend.

With the Panthers finishing top of the table, and looking as good as they’ve looked since Scotty Sattler was making try-saving tackles, fans of the Pride Of The West are well and truly vibing right now.

“Behind the Prince Of Penrith, the boys are rolling,” said one excited local Panthers fan Toby Rowntree down at his new pre-game venue, Wings Out West, with a captain’s run schooner of Extra Thick Mint Oak.

“I can’t wait to give it to these little rich boys from Bondi tomorrow night.”

Rowntree then broke into 60 seconds of high volume Panthers growling.
