The de facto leader of One Nation, Pauline Hanson, has paid a visit this morning to her local Dennis Denuto to ask him to begin legal action against the entire Queensland Government after the pointy state’s premier largely ignored her threats to reopen the border last week.

Hanson’s Thursday deadline to open Queensland’s borders to domestic tourists has come and gone – so to prevent herself from becoming a seemingly irrelevant political sideshow, the senator has followed through with those threats.

“I have directed my lawyer, Brett, to begin suing Annastacia Palaszczuk and the rest of her corrupt government. I wasn’t kidding when I said I was going to challenge the Palaszczuk government over this unconstitutional border closure,”

“Brett is one of the most pre-eminent minds in the Ipswich constitutional law society and he looks forward to our day in court.”

So far, Hanson has said her party is able to cover the legal costs associated with this impending battle but has not ruled out after for donations to the cause moving forward.

“So far, the battle has only cost us $150, which is 30 minutes of Brett’s time. We could get a junior solicitor on this but we feel that for now, we need the expertise of a partner. Brett hasn’t done much legal work outside of the usual petty crime and conveyancing but after inspecting his university transcript, his constitutional law knowledge is undeniable. On his second attempt at the subject, he received a credit,”

“The ball is now in the court of the Queensland Attorney-General’s office. We await their reply.”

The Advocate reached out to the Queensland Attorney-General’s office for comment but as it was before lunch on a Monday, nobody had arrived at the office yet.

More to come.
