A breeding pair of Betoota Grove septuagenarians were left gobsmacked after being fined for using a hose on a hard surface today.

The Greater Betoota Area is currently under Class 4A water restrictions that prohibit the use of water on hard surfaces at all times.

Roberta and Colon Gerbil-Tickle own six houses, two of which are in Betoota Ponds. The other two are in the shadow of South Betoota Polytechnic.

They’re all in a state of disrepair; they’re all rented out to people who can barely afford them.

But that’s not what our reporter was there to speak to the ageing property investors about.

“Can you believe they fine people who actually own the gardens they’re watering?” said Colon.

Roberta went to say something but Colon cut her off.

“He’s not talking to you.”

“We shouldn’t have to follow the same rules as people who didn’t have a go in life.”

More to come.
