Australia’s formal representative for the Queen has today been testing himself in some of the disciplines made famous ADF’s newest military unit, The Special Ass Shakers Regiment – also known as The SAS II.

The Australian Defence Force’s event organisers are under fire today after scantily-clad dancers helped to formally commission the Navy’s newest ship the HMS Survey, a move one senior MP dubbed a “s–tshow”.

ABC footage of the SAS II dancers twerking in front of elderly top brass military general and powerful political figures has been a cause of great embarrassment for the newly appointed Minister For Defence, Peter Dutton.

However, contrary to moral outrage being peddled by talkback radio, the risqué dance routine has been meet with positive feedback from the distinguished guests who were present on the day.

Several high-ranking Australian ADF generals have spoken to the Betoota Advocate about what they believe to be ‘a bit of fun’ – with some even going as far as comparing the dancers to those strange military wind instrument bands that sometimes play music at events like this one.

However, it was Governor-General David John Hurley who was the most impressed by the twerking, which he says is a field of military expertise that he’s disappointed wasn’t on offer when he was serving his country as a former senior officer in the Australian Army

So this afternoon, in one of the lesser utilised living rooms of Government House, the Governor-General has decided to have a crack at some of those moves himself.

The Betoota Advocate can report that Hurley’s wife of 40 years has caught him ‘throwing it back’ in their harbourside residence today, after following the dulcet tones of Trinidadian-American rapper Nicki Minaj right into the Governor General’s makeshift rehearsal studio.

“What do you reckon love?” the Governor-General asked his wife.

“I don’t know if I’ve got the knees for some of the pop and locking, but I think I’ve nailed twerking one cheek at a time”

The Governor-General’s wife says she was more than impressed by her husband’s efforts, after less than a couple hours of practice.

“You’re going great, Dave!” said Her Excellency.

“You’re a natural tip drill. It’s such a shame they weren’t offering this when you were at Duntroon”

“Now let’s put on that WAP song I keep hearing the kitchen staff playing on their smoke breaks”

“I wanna see you make it hot from the top”

MORE TO COME.
