Australian orange juice giant has signed a two year contract as the 2020 major sponsor of the Canberra Raiders of the National Rugby League (NRL).

The new deal will run to the end of the 2022 NRL season and will aims to stay around long enough for a Milk premiership.

Orchy CEO, Birley Kingston says sponsoring the Raiders was a no-brainer especially after the recent legalisation of possessing and growing cannabis for personal use in the nation’s capital.

“The Orchy bottle has always been known as Australia’s Green Machine, so it makes sense that we want our names as the lead sponsor for Canberra’s Green Machine”

As part of the deal Orchy will also take over the naming rights of the Canberra Districts Rugby League (CDRL) Centre in Braddon, now known as the Packer Cone Centre – which will become the future Headquarters of the Canberra Raiders.

The two-year partnership is expected to be extremely beneficial to both parties as well as to a number of high-profile good causes, namely the Bush Capital’s overnight Marijuana culture.

As was reported last night, a private member’s bill on Wednesday from ACT Labor backbencher Michael Pettersson allows Canberrans over 18 to possess 50 grams of cannabis and grow two plants.

The new laws will come into effect from January 31, 2020, around the same time the Orchy Bottle Canberra Raiders begin pre-season training.

“We want to be the go-to saxophone for the Riverina Rosemary” said CEO Kingston.

“So any Canberrans who wanna smoke that green while they cheer on the green. Remember, real Raiders fans rip hot ones through an Orchy bottle”

“Up the fucken Juice!”

Orchy have also revealed plans to create a disposable new juice bottle made purely of hemp products, so as to not alienate the traditional Canberra stoners.

A spokesperson for the club says management is relieved to have a sponsor that the government isn’t actively making laws to limit their business dealings in Australia, as was the case with Huawei.
