The under-fire St Kevins School in Melbourne has received some offers of assistance this afternoon it can be confirmed.

Following revelations that the school covered up and backed an athletics coach who was grooming a student, former Prime Ministers Tony Abbott and John Howard have made their way down to the leafy suburb of Toorak to help the institution out.

With Four Corners exposing the appalling cover-up of a student’s complaint about some horrific behaviour, the two former PMs turned paedophile apologists have come out to bat for the St Kevins Principal who has been forced to resign and the Dean of Sports who has been stood down.

Heading down to the elite Private School that is also facing allegations of harbouring paedophiles as currently employed staff, the pair of retired politicians have offered up character references to whoever needs them.

This noble offer comes after the pair gave now-convicted paedophile George Pell character references during his court case.

“Look, while we won’t comment too much on the specifics of the cases at hand, we are unashamed to offer up our support to some good Christian men who are doing it tough at the moment,” said Abbott out the front of the school this afternoon.

“Besides it’s a good excuse to get down here and visit George (Pell) again,” said the former Member for Warringah who was spotted allegedly visiting Pell late last year.

The pair then trundled into the school.

More to come.
